kym...
just wanted to let you know how inspirational your story is...unfortunately i never had a dog growing up but was fortunate enough to marry a man that introduced me to these wonderful creatures... when we married , i was very apprehensive yet interested in aquiring a dog.. we sought many out at kill shelters but soon they started coming out of know where, falling onto our laps...

we had a very comfortable and traditional life, but late last year, after our furry family suddenly grew from 0, to 1, to 2 then 6, then 11 in less than 2 yrs (have gone up to 13), we had to move to the country to better accomodate all, especially since we also felt the need to foster the sick and ailing from local shelters otherwise soon to be euthanasized as well as those needing a temporary home from local rescue groups..

my husband and i currently work full time in the medical field and how i long to live my life at home with my husband and dogs, gardening and laughing my life away much like you .. hopefully one day soon...

thank you so much for providing a glimpse into your world.. it is like a breath of fresh air..and more importantly, thank you for all that you do for the weak, sick neglected and simply left behind...i too can not imagine a life without the love of one of these wonderful dogs..... they are truly a gift that we clearly do not deserve....

thanks for sharing....

i love your blog and i love your hemp products. any chance that you could make a rasta colored collar? red-green-and-gold seems like a natural fit for a hemp collar. we have used your wilson collar which looks lovely on our doodle toshy, but was just wondering if you'd consider making a rasta collar...keep up the great work. woof.

Hi there. I ran across you today on facebook and stopped to read your bog and look through all 15 pages of pictures!! I just want to let you know that I really appreciate all the great love you share with your dogs and the wonderful things you do for them. I too have a pack. My pack is currently at 4. I've lost my 2 boys in the last year and it's been rough on me and the girls. (all four now are girls!!!) I would love to someday have even more dogs. As many as I could afford to take care of really.
Anyways....thanks for taking such wonderful care of so many wonderful dogs.

I love your collars! Found them in Charlotte after my Boykin Spaniel child had to have major surgery as her C2 disc ruptured. The scar was from her brain to below her neck, and the soft collar did not irritate the scar. Now she just thinks the collars are cool. I always wanted 9 dogs growing up, and my Mom used to say I would never find a man who would let me have 9 dogs. Well I found one who let me rescue 7 at one time. But 16, good for you guys. I could never imagine my life without a dog and hope I never have to. What a great company, so glad I found you.

I joined your Facebook group and have been pecking around your site. It is somewhat comforting to know that I am not the only "crazy dog lady" out there! I am the proud and somewhat frazzled guardian of now 5 rescues - 1 weim mix who is the original. I was so fortunate to be able to rescue him on his day @ a kill shelter. Then there came 2 pure weimaraners -one from the regional breed rescue, one from the local Golden Gallon parking lot. Then I received an email about an 8wk old chihuahua mix that was on death row and thought it ridiculous to put down a puppy like that. I rescued her with the intention of rehoming her but my mom fell in love and she stayed. Now she is 2 yrs old and 35 lbs - not sure what happened to the chihuahua part of her!! She new lives with us as my mom is no longer able to care for her. Last there came the 1 english mastiff. She was supposed to go home with someone else and be adopted through Happy Tales. However, when we met, she "picked" me and refused to get into anyone else's care but mine.
I have often echoed the same sentiment as you - who really rescued who?! Thanx for all that you do - we will surely send photos when there is a contest we can enter!!

Have bought your collars before & just recently found your blog! My husband & I acccidentaly rescued an Irish Wolfhound Mix (?maybe not a mix?) after our beloved enlightend shephard mix passed. Owning a Wolfhound has been quite an adventure. I enjoy & can relate to many of your musings. Any idea when a woflhound stops destroying EVERYTHING!!!

I recently found your website and I instantly fell in love with, both, your products, and your willingness to give needy animals homes. My boyfriend and I adopted a Lab/border collie puppy from a high kill shelter and from day 3 it has been an adventure. We have battled Parvo that nearly stole her from us too soon all the way through to diabetes and anal expressions (yea, what fun it was to learn how to do that!) Through it all and the numerous thousands we have spent making her life with us possible we never lost faith and would love to expand our four legged family. We have ordered our little princess a collar and leash and look forward to having her support your cause. You are doing a great thing. Jim, myself and Lucy thank you.

I just purchased a coupler for my two dogs and I love it it works great. Now I just have one leash instead of two and they are not getting tangled up in the leashes. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Thank you. Can't wait to order more stuff for my dogs.
And Tequila and Ouzo (my dogs) are happy too.

I think you're leading the life I want to have.

I went from idly thinking about a new collar for my dog, to reading my Whole Dog Journal and seeing your company mentioned, to going to your website then your blog and becoming happily and jealously transfixed on what you have created. What a great way to combine your loves and interests. I'm so happy to have "met" you!

I was on a search for some new music and googled Dave-used to go see him when he was a part of Pandora's Box here in Jersey-first I found Mike Younger (really enjoying what I'm hearing there) and then found your site. It's so cool. We recently got our first dog and while technically not a rescue dog it did come from a farm in Woodstock (Levon Helm's) where they had too many dogs so he was free to a good home. Part Am Staff part catahoula hound, a little lab and some pit. Your blogging is wonderful and you're doing great stuff - keep it up~
Peace and rock on~

I absolutely love your site and I love reading your blogs. I am currently a traveling therapist and have 2 little girls (Stella, a whippet/pitbull mix and Luna, and dachshund, yorkie, chihuahua mix) and would LOVE to have more, but I simply can't fit them in the 4runner as we travel across the country on our adventures. We're currently in Chicago where I found out about your company (a great little store called Barker and Meowsky on Armitage for anyone interested!) and I will definitely be spreading the word everywhere I go. Cincinnati is our next stop, then headed out west!!! Once I settle down again in South Carolina, I want all of the shelter dogs at my house!!! Thank you for being incredible people and keep those adorable videos coming!!!

I've never had more than one dog at a time but with you as model "parents," my husband and I now have two energetic, silly puppies sharing our home (we're not sure if we rescued them or if they rescued us -- I think there was mutual rescuing going on). Who knows if or when more will find their way through our door?! What I do know for sure is today's the big earthdog order day -- new collars and leashes for Hank and Daisy! I'm so grateful for what you do, and who you are; THANKS for your amazing work!

PS - We'll send photos ASAP. :o)

It's been a few months since I ordered your extraordinary hemp beds for my dogs. I have tried (on numerous occasions, I might add) to get a picture of them enjoying a nice, restful sleep! But, Bailey can hear the sound of the camera coming out better than any other creature. And, since she surely believes that every time the camera comes out, rays of death will turn her to a quivering pile of goo, I have not been able to snap a shot. Of course, Saul is a "monkey see, monkey do" kind of dog and follows Bailey's lead on almost every occasion (except when food is involved). Anyway, THANK YOU so much for doing what you do! Don't tell them, but collars will be in thier future very soon. :)

I love your blog. Reading about your pack makes me smile. We have a very small collection of rescued midgets ourselves. We got Matilda, a tweenie 7 yr old Dachshund last Thanksgiving. My first dog ever (and I'm 40! waited too long!) we found we loved her so much we needed more. The universe heard us and last Friday we got a call from a friend that someone he knew had a puppy who shouldn't. Long story short we are now the proud adopted parents of "Bella" (name to be changed shortly, Bruna maybe?), a 10 mo busted up mini dachshund. She is in a cast from a break she sustained being "tossed" outside by her old family. The collar and the cast are also set off nicely by her diaper. Yes, she is in heat, too. regardless, we love her and Matilda is doing better than we had hoped in getting used to the baby. I thought it was crazy until I remembered Earth Dog and came over for a read. Thank you for your great stuff and inspiration! We'll be placing a mega-order soon to outfit out newest sweetie!

Yes, I finally ordered Ladybuggs collars. We decided not to take her on our trip, I've never cried so hard! We were able to leave her with the family we bought her from. Now I'm anxious for ya'll to come back on the 14th. It is so neat to have a place on the net to visit and check out what's going on with others and their "friends".

Love all that you & Dave are doing, and can't wait to oufit 1 (of only 3, sorry!) of our rescue pups with some stylish new hemp!
Rescueing dogs, fostering them and finding them good forever homes is so rewarding, and hopefully someday we'll have a house with some space to be able offer kennels, etc. and get more out of our terrible LA County shelters.
Save a life, ADOPT!
