somewhat redundant
Jun 18, 2011 something tells me speck would fare better in a more temperate climate...
it's not the heat...it's the fat
Jun 10, 2011 no matter how many seconds speck is outside in the heat when she comes in her girthy body finds it's way to the closest vent
so it's come to this

i've got so many dogs up in my business i've had to resort to this...
sadly i'd been using speck for a table for probably 10 minutes before i even realized i was doing it. what may be worse is i wouldn't hesitate to use her again - she was actually the perfect height and quite stable. and yes that was a delicious falafel pita i was enjoying.
grabbing life by the back fat
May 29, 2010 speck does not get a moment's rest from benny, which i believe we can accurately refer to as karma!
9 out of 10 dentists agree
Apr 25, 2010 while 93.75% of our family adored benny from the get go there was one that was not only not impressed but downright scared of him. as fearless as speck seems she is actually terrified of new people and new dogs, the only exception being carly who she adored right from the start (go figure). speck spent benny’s first few days running away from him and hiding under things. because murphy’s law is what it is benny was drawn to speck right from the start and followed after her incessantly. apparently benny’s eggy charms proved irresistible and sometime after the first couple of days she and benny became thick as thieves. they.do.not.stop…ever! with every move you make you have to watch your step because there will inevitably be two drunk midgets rolling right around you.
speck for the most part has the upperhand but in benny’s defense she’s like a 40-lb cinderblock and so low to the ground she’s hard to knock down.

Mar 14, 2010 dave started feeding the koi again the other day (they don’t eat in cold weather) and it seems speck found herself another food source. it should be noted that speck is of sizable girth and is no need of further food, especially that which is stolen from the mouths of fish. the beginning part of the video was shot by dave from inside the house and right after he finished shooting speck apparently took a header into the pond. we deduced this from two things: a sizeable puddle on the deck and speck being soaking wet. perhaps my favorite thing about this part of the video, excluding zander’s appearance, is that when dave emailed it to me the subject line read “fatass fisherman.” sadly she was completely unphased by her impromptu swim and the next day proceeded to do the exact same thing. let me point out that there are 13 other dogs right by the pond at the same time, none of whom find it necessary to stoop to the level of stealing from fish. by the end of the summer we’re bound to have very thin fish and an even girthier speck!
a gaggle of yahoos
Dec 10, 2009 i apologize for my extended absence but holy canoli i think the stress of trying to think of a blog post essentially completely incapacitated me. i’ll just put this out there so it’s common knowledge – my life is pretty boring, and i mean that in the greatest possible way. yes, i live with 16 dogs but dogs are creatures of habit and so they do the same thing day in and day out and are rather uninteresting. i apparently need to work harder to make something out of nothing which i guess means you can look forward to, well, nothing.
we in nashville were lucky enough to have some absolutely gorgeous weather deep in the heart of november and the following is some video from that time…enjoy!
